We want to ensure that everyone is able to physically access and engage with the Practice and it’s facilities. Our main Reception Area doorway is double width and the floor is flat, enabling access by wheelchair or mobility scooter. There are dedicated easy access parking slots near to the Reception Area doorway if required – there are no steps to negotiate from the car park.
Large area toilets are available for those needing extra room, space to move around or aids to mobilise.
We also want to ensure that everyone with hidden disabilities feels welcomed and comfortable to engage with the Practice and it’s facilities. We recognise the sunflower lanyard and are happy to help with needs relating to this. We offer the facility to write down details for our Care Navigation Team, for those who feel unable to verbalise their query or medical issue.
Patients who require a room which is quiet for both waiting in and for seeing the Doctor or Nurse, we have a specific waiting room and consulting room which takes into account the need for a quiet environment, lower lighting, “un-busy” wall displays and little or no through footfall to disturb the area. If this is required, please do mention this to the Care Navigator when booking the appointment.
Hearing Difficulties
If you are experiencing hearing difficulties when being called in to see the doctor or nurse, please do let us know in order for us to set up an alert on your medical records and personally collect you from the waiting room. Alternatively, we do have the facility of a portable induction loop. If you would like to use this, please ask at reception for assistance.
We also have access to translation services and can provide leaflets and information in many languages – please ask at the Reception Desk for further information.
